HOTEL RENOVATIONS: hotel is undergoing renovations to rooms and guest areas until October 31, 2022
The Metropole is a fine Victorian hotel built in 1890 retaining all the charm of such an historic listed building. Given over 130 years of battering by the English channel storms, the red bricked building still packs a punch. There are 340 rooms and suites.
The Metropole serves a great breakfast with a vast buffet, served in the chandelier bedecked breakfast room with sea views. There is a popular seafood restaurant, The Salt Room and an Art Deco bar, plus a below deck swimming pool. With the current renovations, once complete the Metropole will certainly be back up there with the best of Brighton, and rightly so for this iconic treasure.

WE SAY: With Victorian splendour comes quirky architecture therefore expect different style rooms, some large, some with views, some small, and some odd shaped. We recommend that you pay the extra for a superior refurbished room, or a popular sea view room to make the most of the location overlooking the beach. Some facilities may not be available at times during the 2022 renovations.
